![]() Restaurant Name: District: Donuts. Sliders. Brews. Neighborhood: Garden District Ambiance: Hipster Coffee Shop Name of the Burger Ordered: Cheeseburger Slider & Tofu Slider Price of the Burger: $3.75 ($2.50 for waffle fries) Price of the Veggie Burger: $3.50 Size of the Burger: 2.5 oz slider Temperature: Medium Talk about a wide range of opinions. The bun had a high score of 9 and low of 4. The patty had a high of 9 and low of 5. The toppings had a high of 8 and low of 3. In summary, our ratings for District were a bit all over the map. Diner beware, YMMV. Important to note that these burgers are sliders (and they do offer other delicious options besides beef and tofu!). Cheeseburger Slider: 6.31 Bun: 6.6 The bun was squishy, but some thought it resembled a dinner roll and others felt it was too sweet for a hamburger (perhaps a product of its donut focused menu?). Patty: 7.0 Most thought the patty was tasty. Meat was juicy and you could tell it was high quality beef. Bun to Meat Ratio: 3.8 Bun was ok. Meat was good. But size does matter, and when you put them together the meat was just way too small for the bun. Standard Toppings: 5.2 Rating the toppings was where opinions heavily diverged. Some thought the sweet pickles were a wonderful welcome, while others removed them. Some thought the sauce was tasty, others felt like it was an overwhelming attack on their burger. One rater said "The patty may have been good, but I couldn't find it underneath all that sauce." Raters who had tried these sliders previously said they didn't remember there being "so much sauce," so perhaps it's a new addition, or someone in the kitchen just got a little loose with it that night! Sides: 4.2 Although we usually love our waffle fries, these seemed to just be average. Definitely needed a healthy dose of salt, pepper, and ketchup to make up for the blandness. Taste: 6.8 Those that weren't overwhelmed by the toppings felt the burger was tasty. However, many of us were simply too turned off by the saucy mess we had on our hands (literally) to accurately measure the tastiness of the slider. Accuracy: 10.0 Value: 3.6 It's hard to stomach paying $3.75 for one of these bitty bites. You'll need to eat at least 2-3 of them to feel satiated, so even without fries, drink, or a donut you're in the hole $11.25. Service: 7.8 Nothing major to complain about here, but we would have liked to have seen them use some kind of number system for orders. You order at the counter and then are forced to awkwardly stand between the booths and the bar stools waiting for them to call your name. And if you disappear onto the back patio, you can count on your order sitting at the bar getting cold. Returnability: 5.8 In fairness to District, people enjoyed the other items they ordered, such as the salads and croquenuts (a big hit!). And several of us did enjoy the sliders. Maybe you're willing to take the risk that you'll be one of the lucky few who the burger resonates with. Or maybe District should just remove "burgers" from its name and stick to the donuts and brews (which refers to coffee, not beer btw). The veggie option was lacking here. After all previous Meet's had seen strong veggie ratings, the Tofu Slider did not do the trick for our veggie raters.
