![]() Restaurant Name: Restaurant R'evolution Neighborhood: French Quarter Ambiance: Upscale Bar (we ate at the bar) Name of the Burger Ordered: Revolution Burger Price of the Burger(s): $17 (+ $7-$9 for beer/wine) Size of the Burger: 8 oz Temperature: Cooked to Order Restaurant R'evolution may be the most expensive restaurant in the city (can I interest you in a $52 veal chop?), but we'll let you in on a little secret: the restaurant's bar area has its own menu with a DELISH burger on it. Good food is hard to come by in the French Quarter, so it's good to know this is a spot where you can get a reliably high quality burger. And if you're looking for something to wash that burger down, maybe R'evolution can interest you in a $16,000 bottle of wine (no, that's not a typo).
R'evolution Burger: 7.14 Bun: 7.6 The bun felt soft and squishy, which sometimes can be all you need to impress us. Surprisingly (but unfortunately) it was also a little dry and wasn't as good on the tongue as it was on the fingers. Patty: 7.8 You probably can't order a bad piece of meat at R'evolution, and the burger patty is no exception. It was cooked well and had great flavor. The medium-rare burgers were delightfully juicy, but the medium burgers left our plates bone dry (we've learned that medium-rare is often the way to go even if it's not typically your thing!). Bun to Meat Ratio: 7.2 At first, the ratio seemed right in line, but everyone ended up with bun left over at the end (not a good look). Standard Toppings: 7.2 This burger brings the toppings. Blue cheese, egg, arugula, sun-dried tomato, and it comes with more sauce options than you can fit on the table (seriously, we had to send back sauces because we were out of space). These are all high-end ingredients, but most thought everything got overwhelmed by the blue cheese. So beware, your enjoyment of this burger may be heavily dependent on your tolerance for (or love of) blue cheese. Sides: 6.8 Another Burger Meet, another solid but not spectacular fry. We are in double digit Meet's at this point, and sides is the only category yet to score above an 8. Somebody step up their fry game! Taste: 7.4 This is a very tasty burger, with the blue cheese being the only polarizing factor. This rating category is supposed to focus purely on taste, but it's hard not to have it in the back of your mind what you expect for the value. Accuracy: 8.2 We were set to give it 10's all around before one of our more cultured raters pointed out that we were eating plain lettuce (the menu claimed arugula so we expected the FANCY lettuce). Value: 4.4 $36 for a burger and their cheapest beer/wine!! It's a very tasty and filling burger that comes with fries, so it's hard to crush the overall rating because of value, but would I enjoy it more than 15 In-N-Out burgers? If you've ever had an In-N-Out Burger you shouldn't have had to think about that for too long (shout out to our west coast burger fans!). Service: 5.4 Nice servers, and you felt the high-end touch when it was all hands on deck serving the food. But it took15 minutes each time we ordered a drink. Not acceptable for the prices we were paying. Returnability: 6.8 If you're in the Quarter, aren't in the mood for a dive restaurant, and want to make sure you're getting a filling, high-quality burger, then R'evolution is a great spot for you. Even better if your company is paying for it. Want to see how R'evolution ranks? Check out our overall Burger Meet rankings.
